Hi, I'm Patrick,
I left school at 16 without any qualifications and worked for my family business in the fish industry until I was 25/26. Due to the decline in the industry the business was closed, and I worked multiple other jobs in factories around Grimsby. These jobs were not fulfilling so I decided to do a Psychology degree in 2016. I completed my degree in 2019 and was lucky enough to get a job at the Grimsby University centre upon completion of my degree. I worked as a lecture for a year on the Psychology programme but soon realised that my passion was working with young people who had experienced trauma. I took a job at the local authority with a team that supported young people who were involved or vulnerable to child criminal and sexual exploitation. I loved this role but noticed that there was a gap in the young people having access to mental health support for various reasons. I wanted to work in the Compass role to have the opportunity to deliver mental health support to young people at an earlier stage to make a bigger impact in their lives long-term.
I enjoy watching sport including football, golf and formula 1. I enjoy keeping fit and attend the gym 5-6 times a week. I also enjoy spending time with my family, playing video games and watching tv series.
I am looking forward to working for a new team (JEFF project) that share my values and passion when working with young people in the community that I am so proud to be a part of.
Hello, I’m Sarah and I am the Engagement & Participation Worker.
In my role I support schools to develop and deliver student-led projects that aim to improve well-being across the whole setting as well as supporting the Autism in Schools project.
I have worked with children and young people, in various settings for the last 20+ years, including art galleries, schools and youth clubs and love the creativity, energy and enthusiasm they bring to projects – no two days are ever the same!
In my own time, I like reading, painting and drawing (I’ve even sold a few bits!), going to the gym and spending time with friends and family.
Hi, I’m Sarah.
I am really excited to be joining Compass go and proud to be part of a team who share such passion and drive to support young people overcome the challenges they may be facing. Throughout my career, I have helped support CYP to access education in a variety of settings, working closely with young people with autism and additional needs. I recently returned to university to complete my degree in Person-centred Counselling and Diploma in CBT. Spending the past three years offering therapy and support to young people and adults has been a Privilege.
Outside of work I love keeping active, spending time outdoors and exploring new places, relaxing with family and friends or reading a good book.
Hi, I’m Suzanne and I joined the team as an Assistant Educational Mental Health Practitioner. I am extremely excited about contributing towards the mental health and well-being of children and young people and giving them the skills going forwards.
I have a background in education and have worked recently as a Pastoral Manager across two schools managing safeguarding, school attendance, PSHE, pastoral support and all round Social and Emotional Mental Health support for the school community. My work here for the last 14 years involved working with children, families, one to one support, group work and as a whole school approach.
My passion is making a difference in my work and this is why the position at Compass Go really appealed to me, because I have seen the difference the service can have on children and young people and I was keen to be part of this.
In my spare time I enjoy spending lots of time with my family and friends, trying new restaurants and being outside. I love running and enjoy watching football.
Hi, I’m Claire and I am a Trainee Education Mental Health Practitioner at Compass GO. I have over 16 years’ experience working with children and young people.
My degree in Counselling and Psychology lead to a career as a Youth Worker where I supported children and young people with a range of social, emotional, and mental health needs through various government funded projects.
Seeing the need to make a difference earlier in a young person’s life led me to retrain as an Early Years Teacher, which is a profession I have been in for the last 8-years. Observing first-hand the impact of Covid-19 on children’s social, emotional and mental health within education really resonated with me and has driven me to pursue a career as an Education Mental Health Practitioner.
I am extremely passionate about making a difference to children and young people’s mental health; ensuring they receive the right support at the right time, so children and young people are able to overcome adversity, and achieve their full potential.
Outside of work I enjoy going to the gym, hiking in the great outdoors, listening to live music, watching musicals and baking (Triple Chocolate Brownie is my speciality!).
Hey lovely folks, I’m Millie!
My role at Compass Go is the Participation and Engagement Worker for The Resilience Project.
Before arriving at Compass Go, I have worked at We Are With You as a Young People’s Recovery Worker, where I supported those who were experiencing issues with substance misuse into recovery. As well as this, I have also worked with organisations such as CPO, Remedi, ROC (Manchester) and Foresight which developed my experience within the social sector.
I am a strong believer that nobody is defined by their past and everyone can make positive change, so I am beyond excited to tailor the Resilience Project to empower and encourage young people in their personal growth.
In my own time, I like to see my loved ones, go swimming, make funky noodle dishes and play lots of Animal Crossing to unwind. Also, I think the greatest things in the world are terrible dad jokes and contagious laughter!

Outside of work, I spend most of my time running round after my toddler, but I also enjoy going to the cinema, walking and reading a good book.
