Senior staff at Compass have welcomed nearly 60 new members of staff to the organisation with a one day corporate induction event in Derbyshire, also celebrating the launch of our new EITSS service.
The corporate induction was part of a week long local induction helping new staff become familiar with all aspects of Compass.
The new staff included those who have joined a new Derby and Derbyshire Early Intervention and Targeted Support Service (EITSS), Compass Changing Lives, Compass Birmingham, Compass Shine in Coventry, Compass Wakefield, and our new national flexible team covering all our services.
They heard about Compass Culture from People Director Kim Jones and Operations Director Jan Smith – their theme was “It’s not just what you do, it’s the way that you do it!”
Chief Executive Rachel Bundock’s discussed the organisation’s mission, vision and values. She spoke about the personal reasons that drive her to make a difference for children, young people and families through her leadership at Compass.
After her talk, the inductees were encouraged to speak with to each other in groups about what motivates them in their work.
Rachel said: “Our recruitment is based on our values and we have these in mind throughout our induction events.
“We want people to feel part of the Compass culture and to understand what it means within people’s everyday practice from the outset. But also, we require the highest levels of professionalism including within clinical governance, effective practice, and safeguarding.
“There are plenty of team building exercises which are a lot of fun for us all and the key foundations to building those all important relationships that make a team successful. And we really do get down to the business of what we do and how we do it. Including the processes that allow us to work efficiently.”
