Operations Director
My role is to provide managerial and professional support, advice and direction to the operational teams and services across Compass.
I am the line manager for the Assistant Directors of Operations and through this have a line of responsibility to all of the services provided to children, young people and families.
Varied role
On a day-to-day basis, the role is diverse and can involve anything from meetings with commissioners to discuss our performance against the contract through to developing new policies or creating and supporting innovation in practice. My specialist lead role is as the Designated Safeguarding Officer for Compass which includes maintaining up-to-date safeguarding policy, overseeing the Compass-wide safeguarding approaches and offering advice and supervision in complex safeguarding casework.
My experience
I have spent my entire career in health and care services across the NHS, local authority and charitable sectors – initially as a nursery nurse and later as a Registered Mental Health Nurse and ultimately a senior manager.
Walking with Digby
I live just outside Hull, a town famous for fish and chips and William Wilberforce. I live with my 17 year old daughter and our little dog Digby. I am an early morning person and love to walk Digby whilst the rest of the world sleeps. I enjoy travel (with ambitions to do more).
